For starters, nationwide wind energy capacity has officially surpassed seventy gigawatts. This is a substantial accomplishment given industry issues in the recent past involving the expiration of U.S. production tax credit program, which arguably spurred the renewable technology's development.
Thankfully, the 2016 congressional budget included extensions for the country's wind energy production tax credit programs, as well as tax relief for other green energy investments like solar panels. Instead of ending abruptly, the programs will continue effective immediately and phase out gradually in the coming years.
