In an effort to ensure grid stability, New Jersey lawmakers seek to double energy storage initiatives in the state's 2016 Clean Energy Program budget. If passed, the investment will jump from three million dollars to six.

Though renewables offer clean alternatives to fuel-burning generation, issues with intermittence stunt these green technologies as they grow to compete against other energy interests. Additionally, as Hurricane Sandy proved to New Jersey, these devices are literally powerless in the face extremely inclement weather.

By increasing its resources allocated for energy storage, the thirty-five thousand renewable energy systems across the Garden State will reliably supply residents, schools and other important regional facilities with the electricity they need exactly when they need it.
